Residential Plumbing Problems in Temperance? Let's Get Them Fixed

When a plumbing fixture stops working properly, you need to know what is wrong and what it will take to fix it. Our approach starts with looking at the affected fixture or plumbing connection, checking for signs of wear or damage, and identifying the likely cause before recommending a repair.

Whether you have a leaking faucet, a clogged sink, a faulty toilet, or a tub or shower that will not stop dripping, we can discuss the problem and the available options. Our goal is to restore normal use and help you avoid damage from an unresolved plumbing fault.

A small leak can cause a much bigger problem if water reaches the flooring, drywall, or cabinets. A toilet that keeps running can waste water, and a slow drain may signal a blockage that needs attention. Fixing the issue early can help keep repair work from spreading to other parts of your home.

Why You Shouldn’t Ignore a Plumbing Leak

Water does not have to pour from a pipe to damage your home. A slow leak beneath a sink or around a tub can keep cabinets, flooring, and wall materials damp for days or weeks before you spot it.

Watch for these warning signs:
– Water stains on ceilings, walls, or floors.
– Damp or swollen cabinets beneath sinks.
– A toilet that runs long after flushing.
– Drains that empty slowly or keep clogging.
– Musty odors near plumbing fixtures.
– Water pressure that suddenly changes.

If you notice any of these problems in your Temperance home, have the cause checked. A repair now may prevent more extensive work later.

When Is It Time to Call a Plumber?

A replacement washer or another small part may solve a simple fixture problem. But if a leak returns after a repair, a drain repeatedly backs up, or a toilet keeps running despite your attempts to fix it, the underlying cause may still be there.

Repeatedly tightening connections or applying sealant without finding the source can make some problems harder to diagnose. If a pipe is leaking behind a wall, a fitting is damaged, or a blockage will not clear, professional help can save you from more trial and error.

Advanced Plumbing of Monroe can help you assess the problem and decide whether a repair, a replacement part, or a new fixture is the better choice. Call (734) 243-8830 to discuss your residential plumbing needs in Temperance, Michigan.

Residential Plumbing Repair and Installation in Temperance, MI

At Advanced Plumbing of Monroe, we start by understanding the symptoms and checking the affected plumbing. A leak, blockage, or malfunctioning fixture can have more than one cause, so the repair should match what is actually wrong.

We explain the recommended work and discuss the parts or materials it may require. Once you approve the proposed work, the service can move forward based on the agreed scope. We want you to understand what needs attention, why it needs attention, and what to expect from the repair.

Residential Plumbing Services We Offer in Temperance, Michigan

Home plumbing problems can show up in many places. We help homeowners address issues involving everyday fixtures and the plumbing connections that keep them working.

Faucet Repair and Replacement
A dripping faucet, loose handle, or faulty valve can waste water and become a daily annoyance. Depending on the fixture’s condition, the right solution may be a repair or a replacement.

Sink Plumbing
Slow drainage, leaking connections, and water collecting beneath a kitchen or bathroom sink should not be ignored. We can help identify the cause and determine whether the problem involves the drain, trap, supply line, or another component.

Toilet Repair
A toilet that runs continuously, leaks near its base, flushes poorly, or clogs repeatedly may have a worn or damaged part. Identifying the cause helps determine whether a targeted repair or replacement is the better option.

Tub and Shower Plumbing
Leaks around a tub or shower, faulty controls, and dripping fixtures can affect both daily use and the surrounding walls or flooring. Have persistent leaks checked before moisture causes further damage.

Pipe Leaks and Plumbing Connections
Visible leaks, damp areas near pipes, or signs of water damage may point to a loose connection, a worn fitting, or a damaged pipe. The location and extent of the problem help determine the repair needed.

Plumbing Fixture Installation
If a fixture is damaged or you want to replace an older one, the work may involve removing the existing unit, fitting the new fixture, and checking its plumbing connections. The exact work depends on the fixture and the condition of the existing plumbing.

I have not used Advanced Plumbing before but I can already tell you when I need a plumber, I'll be calling them. My senior neighbor told me this evening that she called you guys this morning for what she thought was a sump pump alarm that had been driving her crazy for hours. One of your service men, Eric I believe she said, showed up and spent a 1/2 looking for the source of the alarm. He found it. It was her Carbon Monoxide detector that was malfunctioning. He advised her that it was important that she replace it, in which, she did. The best part of this story is that they did not charge her a dime to come out. I was so grateful to hear this that I think it is noteworthy to bring attention to this act of kindness from this company and the kind of people you employ. It says a lot about you! Thank you!!!! From the neighbor of the grateful lady you helped this morning!

I have used Advanced for all of my plumbing needs, emergency or routine maintenance. They are able to get me on the schedule very quickly with competitive pricing. Eric is fantastic. He does excellent work, doesn’t do work that isn’t needed and talks you through everything. The other techs I’ve had are just as great. I refer everyone who needs work to them. Don’t hesitate to call them. Hands down, the best around.

Called to get a leak fixed in my upstairs bathroom. (Had an existing access hole in the ceiling) He came out to diagnose the problem, adjusted the water spout and silicone the spout, and put an access in the wall for another angle to see the problem. Said that should fix it. Still leaking called the office and she told me they will come out and diagnose the problem, and I would be charged again. They already came out and missed diagnosed the problem. Now they want to come out again and charge me again for another diagnosis that they didn't solve. I want to support their business but to keep charging to diagnose a problem that isn't correctly diagnose is just wrong. I'm glad to pay for a leak that is fixed. But to keep playing elimination until you find the leak and charging me is not the way to solve this. She didn't have any solutions to give me other than keep charging me.

We appreciate any and all feedback. We did look back at our notes regarding this job. The initial visit on October 30, 2024 was to assess and repair a leak on a 3" pvc sewer line between the first and second floor in the ceiling. We have noted down that there was already a hole cut and it is suspected that approximately 2' needed to be cut out and repaired. That leak was repaired on site by cutting out the bad section of 3” pvc at a coupling that wasn’t glued. On December 9, 2024 we were called back out for a potential follow-up. Our notes state that there was still a leak in the ceiling. Upon arrival, it was described to us that the leak was in a separate area, near the tub, resulting in a new service call, not a follow-up. There was already a hole cut in the drywall ceiling below. Investigative work began where we ran water at the tub/shower fixture. We did not see anything leaking. We did, however, notice that the spout wasn’t siliconed against the shower wall. We adjusted and siliconed the tub spout to the wall and explained that water could sometimes run down the wall behind the spout resulting in a leak. We also cut access on the backside of the tub/shower and found no leaks. We provided and installed an access panel and advised to keep an eye on the area and to call if anything further leaks. Today, March 18, 2025 (99 days after the service call) we received a call stating there was still a leak in the ceiling area. We explained that we would treat this as a new service call to further investigate and diagnose the unknown leak. We understand leaks can be frustrating because they can be hard to locate, especially when we cannot get it to leak while on site. We are more than willing and happy to come out to further diagnose the ongoing leak as a service. We do appreciate your business and feedback and look forward to working with you again in the future.

Had them out to do regular service my hot water on demand system for descaling. They were able to get me in within a day of calling them. The tech Eric explained a lot about the system. He identified a potential issue with the system and fixed it on the spot. The tech was very respectful and performed great work. The scheduler on the phone was friendly and kind. I would recommend them to friends and family for any future plumbing work.

Frequently Asked Questions

What residential plumbing services are available in Temperance, Michigan?
Advanced Plumbing of Monroe helps homeowners with residential plumbing issues involving faucets, sinks, tubs, toilets, showers, pipes, drains, and water heaters. Call (734) 243-8830 to discuss your specific problem and confirm the service you need.

How much do residential plumbing services cost in Temperance, MI?
The cost depends on the problem, the work required, the parts and materials needed, and whether damaged pipes or other hidden issues need attention. Every plumbing job is different, so we don’t give one price for every repair. Call Advanced Plumbing of Monroe at (734) 243-8830 to explain the issue and request an accurate quote before work begins.

What affects the price of a residential plumbing repair?
The type of fixture or pipe, the severity of the damage, how easy the affected area is to reach, the parts required, and whether additional repairs are needed can all affect the final price. A leaking faucet may need a replacement component, while a leak behind a wall may require more investigation and repair. We can discuss the likely scope of work when you call.

How long does residential plumbing service take?
Timing depends on the problem and the work involved. A straightforward faucet repair or toilet adjustment may take less time than replacing a damaged pipe, locating a concealed leak, or installing a new fixture. Once the plumber has assessed the issue, ask for an expected timeframe based on your home’s specific needs.

How do I know when I need a plumber?
Call a plumber if you notice persistent dripping, low or changing water pressure, slow drains, a toilet that keeps running, water stains, damp cabinets, musty smells, or unexplained increases in water use. These signs can point to worn components, blockages, leaks, or other plumbing faults. If water is actively leaking or a pipe has burst, contact a plumber promptly.

What happens if I put off a plumbing repair?
A small leak can spread into cabinets, flooring, drywall, and other building materials. Ongoing moisture can lead to wood damage and mold growth. A running toilet or leaking fixture can also waste water, while a blockage may worsen and cause an overflow. Addressing the problem early can help limit damage and avoid additional repairs.

What is included in a residential plumbing service?
The work depends on the issue. A service visit may involve inspecting the affected fixture or pipe, identifying the likely cause, explaining the recommended repair, and carrying out the approved work. Depending on the job, this can include repairing or replacing fixture components, correcting leaks, clearing a blockage, or installing plumbing hardware. Ask what is included in your specific quote before authorizing the work.

Should I repair a plumbing fixture or replace it?
Repair may make sense when the fixture is in good condition and the problem comes from a worn seal, valve, or other replaceable part. Replacement may be the better option when the fixture is badly damaged, repeatedly fails, or no longer meets your needs. A plumber can assess its condition and explain the available options so you can make an informed decision.

Can I fix a leaking faucet or clogged sink myself?
Some minor issues may have simple causes, but a temporary fix can miss worn components, damaged connections, or a deeper blockage. Stop if the repair requires unfamiliar tools, force, or work on plumbing connections you cannot safely identify. A plumber can find the cause and explain whether a repair or replacement makes more sense.

Do you provide emergency residential plumbing help in Temperance?
If you have a burst pipe, an active leak, an overflowing toilet, or water spreading through your home, call Advanced Plumbing of Monroe at (734) 243-8830. Explain what is happening so the team can discuss the next steps and service availability. If it is safe to do so, shut off the affected fixture’s water supply; if you cannot locate the shutoff, avoid contact with standing water near electrical equipment.

How do I choose the right residential plumber?
Look for a plumber who communicates clearly, explains the problem and proposed repair, discusses pricing before work starts, and answers questions without pressuring you into unnecessary replacements. Check relevant licensing and insurance, local experience, and recent customer reviews. You should understand what the plumber plans to do and what the quote covers.

What results should I expect after a residential plumbing repair?
The goal is to correct the identified problem, restore normal use, and reduce the risk of further damage from the same fault. The result depends on the condition of the plumbing and whether other issues are present. Ask the plumber to explain what was repaired, whether anything else needs attention, and how to maintain the fixture or system.
