Signs You Need Residential Drain Cleaning in Temperance, Michigan

A slow drain can be easy to put off, especially when the water eventually goes down. But when a sink, shower, or floor drain keeps backing up, the blockage may be getting worse or may sit farther down the pipe.

Look for slow-draining water, repeated clogs, gurgling sounds, unpleasant odors, or water coming back up through a drain. If several fixtures are affected at once, the issue may involve the main sewer line rather than one sink or tub.

Waiting can turn a frustrating clog into a messy backup. Wastewater and standing water can damage floors, walls, and other materials in your home. For recurring problems or drains that stop working altogether, call Advanced Plumbing of Monroe at (734) 243-8830 to discuss residential drain cleaning in Temperance.

Residential Drain Cleaning That Gets to the Cause

Advanced Plumbing of Monroe helps homeowners in Temperance deal with clogged drains and recurring blockages. We start by learning which fixtures are affected and what you have noticed, then determine the best way to approach the problem.

Some clogs are close to the drain opening. Others sit deeper in the plumbing or affect the main sewer line. If several drains are backing up or the same clog keeps returning, a camera inspection may help locate the source. We explain what we find and discuss the recommended work and pricing before proceeding.

Residential Drain Cleaning for Sinks, Showers, Toilets, and Sewer Lines

Drain problems can show up in any part of your home. Advanced Plumbing of Monroe provides residential drain cleaning for common household clogs and problems that affect multiple fixtures.

Kitchen sinks: Grease, food scraps, and soap residue can build up and slow the drain.

Bathroom sinks, showers, and tubs: Hair and soap residue are common reasons water stops draining properly.

Toilets: A stubborn toilet clog may need professional equipment to clear it without damaging the fixture.

Floor drains: Backups in a basement, garage, or utility area may signal a blockage farther down the line.

Main sewer lines: When several drains back up or problems keep returning, a main line blockage or pipe issue may be involved.

We assess the problem, select an appropriate cleaning method, and explain any further inspection or repair that may be needed. Call (734) 243-8830 to discuss the drains giving you trouble in Temperance, Michigan.

I have not used Advanced Plumbing before but I can already tell you when I need a plumber, I'll be calling them. My senior neighbor told me this evening that she called you guys this morning for what she thought was a sump pump alarm that had been driving her crazy for hours. One of your service men, Eric I believe she said, showed up and spent a 1/2 looking for the source of the alarm. He found it. It was her Carbon Monoxide detector that was malfunctioning. He advised her that it was important that she replace it, in which, she did. The best part of this story is that they did not charge her a dime to come out. I was so grateful to hear this that I think it is noteworthy to bring attention to this act of kindness from this company and the kind of people you employ. It says a lot about you! Thank you!!!! From the neighbor of the grateful lady you helped this morning!

I have used Advanced for all of my plumbing needs, emergency or routine maintenance. They are able to get me on the schedule very quickly with competitive pricing. Eric is fantastic. He does excellent work, doesn’t do work that isn’t needed and talks you through everything. The other techs I’ve had are just as great. I refer everyone who needs work to them. Don’t hesitate to call them. Hands down, the best around.

Called to get a leak fixed in my upstairs bathroom. (Had an existing access hole in the ceiling) He came out to diagnose the problem, adjusted the water spout and silicone the spout, and put an access in the wall for another angle to see the problem. Said that should fix it. Still leaking called the office and she told me they will come out and diagnose the problem, and I would be charged again. They already came out and missed diagnosed the problem. Now they want to come out again and charge me again for another diagnosis that they didn't solve. I want to support their business but to keep charging to diagnose a problem that isn't correctly diagnose is just wrong. I'm glad to pay for a leak that is fixed. But to keep playing elimination until you find the leak and charging me is not the way to solve this. She didn't have any solutions to give me other than keep charging me.

We appreciate any and all feedback. We did look back at our notes regarding this job. The initial visit on October 30, 2024 was to assess and repair a leak on a 3" pvc sewer line between the first and second floor in the ceiling. We have noted down that there was already a hole cut and it is suspected that approximately 2' needed to be cut out and repaired. That leak was repaired on site by cutting out the bad section of 3” pvc at a coupling that wasn’t glued. On December 9, 2024 we were called back out for a potential follow-up. Our notes state that there was still a leak in the ceiling. Upon arrival, it was described to us that the leak was in a separate area, near the tub, resulting in a new service call, not a follow-up. There was already a hole cut in the drywall ceiling below. Investigative work began where we ran water at the tub/shower fixture. We did not see anything leaking. We did, however, notice that the spout wasn’t siliconed against the shower wall. We adjusted and siliconed the tub spout to the wall and explained that water could sometimes run down the wall behind the spout resulting in a leak. We also cut access on the backside of the tub/shower and found no leaks. We provided and installed an access panel and advised to keep an eye on the area and to call if anything further leaks. Today, March 18, 2025 (99 days after the service call) we received a call stating there was still a leak in the ceiling area. We explained that we would treat this as a new service call to further investigate and diagnose the unknown leak. We understand leaks can be frustrating because they can be hard to locate, especially when we cannot get it to leak while on site. We are more than willing and happy to come out to further diagnose the ongoing leak as a service. We do appreciate your business and feedback and look forward to working with you again in the future.

Had them out to do regular service my hot water on demand system for descaling. They were able to get me in within a day of calling them. The tech Eric explained a lot about the system. He identified a potential issue with the system and fixed it on the spot. The tech was very respectful and performed great work. The scheduler on the phone was friendly and kind. I would recommend them to friends and family for any future plumbing work.

Residential Drain Cleaning for Temperance Homeowners

When a drain backs up, you need to know what is causing the problem and what it will take to fix it. Advanced Plumbing of Monroe serves homeowners in Temperance, Michigan, with residential drain cleaning for sinks, showers, tubs, toilets, floor drains, and main sewer line blockages.

We ask about the symptoms, assess the affected drain, and explain the recommended work. If a clog keeps returning or several fixtures are affected, a closer look at the line may be needed to find the source. Our goal is to clear the blockage, explain what we found, and help you understand how to reduce the chance of another clog.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does residential drain cleaning cost?
The cost depends on where the clog is located, how severe it is, and what equipment or inspection the job requires. Call Advanced Plumbing of Monroe at (734) 243-8830, describe the problem, and ask for current pricing before scheduling service.

What factors affect the cost of drain cleaning?
The type of drain, the depth and severity of the blockage, access to the pipe, and whether the main sewer line is affected can all affect the price. Recurring clogs or suspected pipe damage may call for a camera inspection. If repairs are needed beyond clearing the clog, those costs should be discussed separately.

How long does residential drain cleaning take?
A simple blockage near a sink or tub may take less time to clear than a stubborn clog or main sewer line obstruction. The time also depends on access to the pipe and whether the plumber needs to inspect the line to find the cause. Call us to discuss your symptoms and scheduling needs.

What are the signs that I need professional drain cleaning?
Watch for water draining slowly, repeated clogs, gurgling sounds, unpleasant drain odors, or water backing up into a sink, tub, shower, or floor drain. If several drains are affected at once, the blockage may be farther down the main sewer line.

What can happen if I ignore a clogged drain?
A blockage can get worse and lead to repeated backups or wastewater entering your home. Standing water and sewage can damage flooring and other materials, while lingering moisture can create conditions for mold growth. Addressing the problem early can help limit the mess and reduce the chance of more costly damage.

Are there alternatives to professional drain cleaning?
For a minor clog in one fixture, a plunger or cleaning an accessible drain stopper may help. Avoid relying on harsh chemical drain cleaners, which can damage some plumbing components and may not remove the underlying blockage. If the drain stays slow, the clog returns, or more than one fixture backs up, arrange a professional assessment.

What is included in a residential drain cleaning service?
The plumber assesses the symptoms, identifies the affected drain, and selects a suitable method to clear the blockage. The work may involve professional drain-cleaning equipment, followed by a check of water flow. For recurring or severe clogs, or problems affecting several drains, a camera inspection may help identify the cause.

What should I do if the clog returns after drain cleaning?
A recurring clog can point to a deeper problem, such as buildup farther down the pipe, tree roots, pipe damage, or a drainage issue. Contact your plumber and explain when the blockage returned and which fixtures are affected. A camera inspection may help determine whether further cleaning or a repair is needed.

Will professional drain cleaning prevent future clogs?
Clearing a blockage restores flow, but it cannot prevent every future clog. Grease, food scraps, hair, soap residue, and other debris can build up again. If the problem keeps returning, the pipe may have an underlying issue that needs to be identified before the right long-term fix can be chosen.

How do I choose a residential drain cleaning company?
Choose a plumber who asks about the symptoms, explains the recommended approach, discusses pricing before work begins, and can explain what to do if the clog returns. For homeowners in Temperance, Advanced Plumbing of Monroe can discuss your drain problem and help determine the appropriate next step. Call (734) 243-8830.
